(Faultychips') Building Projects!

This is gonna be a long one, so apologies in advance for the WAVE of images. I'll be going by order of area mostly, but I'll jump around a bit especially near the end when it comes to really small stuff like farms. Honestly I've only made a handful of things at time of writing, but I still took too many pictures, so. lol. There's gonna be a lot of individual posts making up this main post.

Most of my time in the server has been spent tinkering in a small corner off the side of Nariko, right next to the rainbow village (gay commune?) so it only seems appropriate to start there.
My most recent building is probably? one of the first things you'll notice if you'll go there, so let's start with that.

The Hive. I'm really happy with this design, even if there isn't a crazy amount of stuff happening here. I've found that the best way to come up with ideas is to scribble down ideas until something hits, and then build it up in a creative world no there's no limits, then use Litematica to help move it to the survival server. Honestly completely forgot there was already a bee character that a nonzero amount of this server is dedicated to when making this, but I'm sure she doesn't mind. Probably. Be sure to say hello to Legally Distinct Normal Queen Bee before you leave. (x:-1475 z:0)

A bit diagonally across from the Hive, you'll probably also notice the Panda Playground. I'll be the first to admit that there isn't much of a playground here, but part of the problem is thinking of things that pandas would enjoy and can actually be interacted with by the pandas to some degree and actually looks like anything at all due to block size. The new introduction of cherry blossoms gives me hope that I can at least pretty up the place a bit, and the pink wood definitely has more of a toy vibe. I'll have to see about that...  (x:-1455 z:-50)

In addition, you may or may not have noticed the huge looming ominous dark red castle on the horizon. I made that too :)

The Nether Castle is probably my favorite original building project, so I will be putting a looot of images here. It's not too complicated, but it's my first substantial mc build that I did completely on my own. The biggest disappointment with this castle, however, is that I built it specifically to house 1-2 ghasts, and I could not get a single one in here no matter how hard I tried. That's why it's still a bit janky and ugly; it's still technically a wip as I still cling to that dream. (Should've built it somewhere where the nether portal inside links to a biome where ghasts actually spawn. Ah well.) At least there are a few zombie piglins and magma cubes enjoying the space anyways. (x:-1370 z:-75)

Finally, before moving on from Nariko, there's another building I put together, but this is one of two buildings I put together mostly from a youtube video, before I started getting confident about making things up by myself. This is the Cat Cafe. There's a sign crediting the original inside, but for the sake of it, here's the original video I referenced: "Minecraft: How to Build a Cat Cafe - Survival" by punsintended. I don't know what exactly it is about this cafe but ever since I built it iron golems have practically taken over the Rainbow Village. I guess they're big cat fans?

Just a ridiculous amount of them. Honestly? Awesome and powerful.

Another area I've set up some stuff in is a little bamboo jungle area. (No, not the flattened area just off of 0, 0, though that was also my doing. Use that if you want; I lost steam on it. lol.) You can get to it from the Nether path to 0, 0 too. Just a few things of note here...

Firstly, EVERYbody is ALways asking me about my huge baby panda angel statue.

Well I'm gonna be honest with you. I wanted to get all the different types of panda in minecraft for the Panda Playground. And it turns out getting brown pandas is...

....hard. (My own notes btw. You don't want to see my excel spreadsheets.)
So I went with something a little mean. I admit that.

My evil scientist phase is hopefully over now, so I made a little panda tribute statue to make amends for the deeds I have done...in the name of completion-ism...and also server lag. (x:-160 z:-260)

Continuing the theme of shame, something I'm actually very embarrassed about is that the only other building of note in this area, the Jungle Village, is also something I got from a Youtube tutorial, but unlike the previously mentioned build I cannot for the life of me find it now. Youtube's search history attempts are of course completely unhelpful, but it's my bad for not properly documenting who and where I got it from in the first place. I'll be on the lookout to try and find it eventually, but at least it seems like it's one of many "Modern Minimalist House" designs that are everywhere (which is probably what makes this specific one so hard to find too). I found the original tutorial video! Just had to scroll through a lot of clickbait thumbnails and shorts. Woof. It's "Minecraft : How to Build a Modern Wooden Survival House Tutorial (#23)" by Heyimrobby. It's now credited in-server too. At least it looks pretty nice imo. Huge rainbow gay bed was, in fact, one of my personal touches.

Overall, this area isn't that interesting personally, but it's all by me, and now you know! Trying to decrease the influence my builds have on the heart rates of other players, here. Feel free though, as with all of them, to visit and use the farms within. And to look upon the panda statue and make me sneeze.

Finally, there's about one last area I've staked my claim in so far, and it's a loooong way from spawn. This is kind of on purpose, but if you ever attempt to get there you'll realize as I did that this novelty wears off faaast. Has one of the only closest mansions though, and that's the main reason for setting up there. I don't visit as much as I used to, but it's got a lot of personal farms I like to use when the public ones are, understandably, busy. (x:-10,114 z:-1,906)

That's all underground around mineshaft depth, though. I tried to pretty up the mansion with a moat that axolotls can swim in, but it's pretty tough to keep them in when your moat connects to an entire ocean, and even before tackling that they started disappearing, so it wasn't meant to be. Still like what I got done of that though. Good place to farm totems regardless! Plus I got a few small villager houses topside too to flesh out the area a bit.

The last real big build I have to show is something relatively close to the mansion, but allll the way out in the ocean. The Houseboat. Again, seclusion is novel until it isn't. (x:-9,385 z:-2,344)

I actually really like the potential of the houseboat idea I had here; if I ever decide to revamp it I might move it somewhere closer and more convenient to access. I built it on top of an ocean monument with the specific intent of drying out the monument and reformatting it as a large-scale base...turns out even if you kill the elder guardians the regular fuckers keep spawning, ready to shoot you point blank the moment you step outside of your house.

This, I could deal with. However I tried to recoup my losses with the earlier moat by having a axolotl pool in the ocean monument. You can probably guess how that went. Even when I made the water shallow enough so they couldn't spawn, the guardians must have been shooting them through the walls or something, because every axolotl I placed there would be gone as soon as I took my eyes off them. Honestly I still love the design I made for their room, and aquamarine looks especially nice, so it may be a solid idea to recreate the room or even the whole monument someplace where guardians don't spawn, ideally outside of the ocean.

(There's actually one more small thing in this ocean area that I made...but it can be a fun surprise if you visit ;]  though honestly if you look at that area on the server map you'll probably see it easily LOL)

That wraps up my main builds! I'll rapid-fire through some of my smaller stuff like farms (that I did mostly get from first results on Youtube, so bear that in mind) here for anyone interested:

Auto Honeycomb and Honey farms! Honestly not that good at being automatic, but they work well enough. Right next to the Hive which you could also go to and get some of this stuff manually; just don't go for the unsmoked hives hanging down from the ceiling... (x:-1515 z:-45)

Phantom Farm: exactly what it sounds like. I've gathered probably more phantom membrane than anyone will ever use on this server already because it's easier to just enchant elytra with mending than fix them manually all the time, but if you need it, it's there! Also right next to the Hive. (x:-1515 z:-45)

Sniffer Farm! Last one relatively close to the Rainbow Village and the most recent one I've made. For collecting sniffer drops; look for the cherry door in the ground to get the seeds. Would you believe me if I said it was next to the Hive? (x:-1500  z:21)

If you actually move away from the Hive, but still keep relatively close to Nariko, you'll also find my Gunpowder farm. If you care about gunpowder you probably have elytra already, but still, you'll need 'em to get up to the idling spot. (x:-1760  z:144)

Finally, there's a little Allay house I built for getting yourself a buddy. These guys apparently can be pretty good substitutes for hopper collecting in farms. You can find it in the Quarry (the one under the Bank, bottom floor). (x:-1288  z:167)

And while not really big enough to call farms, I try to make some of the mobs that could be kind of annoying to search out easy to access somewhere in/near Nariko. So basically:

And so ends my current progress on the server so far...as for upcoming projects, I don't have a lot of specific in mind but I do know ONE thing. I want to make an animal zoo with huge biome-imitating rooms for multiple mobs (kind of like my ghast room in the Nether Castle, but more of them and maybe bigger). I just have no idea where to build it HEHEH. I'll figure it out.... Soon. It could be a fun thing to collab on if anyone's interested in that...!

Amazing stuff! I always enjoy seeing your work on the server.

That chart makes me finally understand why for weeks whenever I saw you online you were getting murdered by pandas. I have to wonder what your killed-by-pandas statistic looks like (and the other way around)...

And YEAH lol it explains it pretty well huh. ...and y'know, I'm only just now finding out there's a page for statistics in this game. Let me seee...

Yeahhh, those killed-by stats look about right. Very warranted. But I actually eventually got sort of an automatic farm going so that panda death number isn't entiiirely accurate... Luckily I already crunched the numbers to the best of my ability when I made the statue (for its plaque):

So that's probably the more accurate one. o7 fly high silly pandas...!
